Project
Husky
Overview
The Husky (opens in a new tab) courier app was Android-only and built on an outdated stack. I built the v2 from scratch in React Native, now on Android and iOS, with full autonomy: architecture, technologies and workflow were all my call, with no more experienced engineer to make decisions or help with development.
What I built
- Accept or decline a delivery, seeing values and addresses
- Location and device data (battery, connection, sound mode) sent to the store
- Proof of delivery and problem reports
- Offline mode that syncs when the connection returns
Technical challenges
- A notification that keeps ringing until the courier accepts or declines the delivery, even on silent or Do Not Disturb
- Native modules to read device state: sound mode, Do Not Disturb, connection type, device model, memory and more
